Also please don’t write MS as M$, it makes me think of http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2002/07/22/.
There isn’t a grand conspiracy here, Microsoft is a business and wants to protect their interests, I’m sure they let James know all of this up front.
@kevbo, I talked to James about bringing the games to the PC while at PAX. He basically said it was unworkable for him currently.
Not quoting or paraphrasing here, but in my own words, basically this “marketshare” you talk about in a nice idea, but from a development perspective, it is a large investment to bring something to the PC. If you don’t sell enough on the PC to recoup this investment then your at a net loss for your efforts. James runs a one man show, so for him to go out of his way to port his games to the PC means he has stop working on whatever else his is working on and then worry about supporting the game once it is released into the wild. That support alone would be crippling for a one man studio.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see James release his games on the PC, as I don’t own a 360 and would like a chance to play the stuff he is putting out, but I also understand why it just isn’t feasible.
Nice games but its a shame that you are locked down to XBLA and don’t release them for PC as well. Less marketshare but M$ likes it that way 😉
Hey! Saw you guys at the booth, The Dishwasher looked amazing and I can’t wait for more details on it. It had a really unique style that caught my eye.
That being said I was wondering what the deal is with Survival Crisis Z. Was it a game that one or two of you made a very long time ago before SKA Studios reformed or what? I’m rather curious so any information would be great.
I saw the yuki’s gameplay in 1up.com and it is weird and creepy
Thank you guys a ton for coming out to PAX East. IMO, wandering around on a show floor and happening upon games is 10x better than Xbox Live just putting an ad up for the game on the dashboard or something. It was cool just coming up, watching others play and listening to the 1 on 1 conversations at the booth.
Well, lets just say that I got my hands on Vampire Smile, and I feel in love with that game! Was that the full game or at least what you had done? It was cool, but I figured that I spent 5 minutes or so checking it out and there were like 3 people lining up waiting.
Oh, and Charlie Murder looks awesome. Keep up the great work guys. If you would ever release a compilation disc with those 6 games on, that would be a day one purchase for me.
Hey James im sure PAX is goin great for vampire smile but ive NOTHING on CHARLIE MURDER not one stinkin preview and i want info now gol dangit.
Wicked cool. Have to grab one yer pins for myself =)
Put that sweet sound in your ears.
